The advent of multi-standard, multi-band, faster and long distance wireless communication has increased the significance of research and development in the fields of RF, Microwave and millimetre bands systems along with development of RF Integrated Circuits and Systems. RIMMS is optimally placed to respond to this paradigm shift and is offering postgraduate program in Electrical Engineering with prime focus on RF and Microwave and Integrated Circuits and Systems. The evolution of the Institute has witnessed strong blend of state-of-the-art infrastructure, intertwined with human resource committed to provide professional education with thrust on creativity and innovation.
Our faculty strive beyond the traditional disciplinary boundaries to explore and create new areas of study. Their research addresses critical issues in Antenna Design, Wave Propagation, Electromagnetic Compatibility and Interference, RF MEMS and RF Front-End systems. Likewise, our students get the opportunity to carry their research at our well-equipped state-of-the-art laboratories. They are also provided with the platforms to interact with professionals from relevant industries and get hands-on experience by working with them on various contemporary industrial projects.
Recently, the global market of Integrated Circuits (ICs) and systems has experienced exponential growth in all its sub-domains of digital, analog and radio frequency (RF) ICs. This is mainly due to unprecedented growth in worldwide consumer electronics, cellular phones, Internet-of Things (IOT), healthcare and automotive domain in the last decade. In order to harness the opportunities in these industries, Electrical Engineering departments worldwide are focusing on teaching the core knowledge of IC design to prepare graduates who can fulfill the intellectual capital required by these industries. Even in the developing countries, such graduates are becoming the fuel for running IC design centres operating under the fabless model. Therefore, aligned with these trends, a specialised stream under the MS / PhD EE program related to integrated circuits and systems has also been introduced this year.
